Help with this flower please

    I saw lots of these flowers on the coast in Northern California it appeared to be growing wild and was in full bloom.
    I would like to know what it is.

    Echium, possibly Echium candicans.

    Wow, thanks Chris that was fast, I'm sure that is the flower alright.
    Now I will have to see where I can get one.
