I have a juniper that is going brown and need help identifying the problem.

As you can see it is part of a hedge containing several junipers and cedar trees with a large pine tree above.

More than half the one plant has gone completely brown while the rest look fairly happy & healthy.

I have done very little with this area of the yard since moving into the home 2 years ago other than removing the large amounts of pine needles that land on the juniper.

It does not look like a fungi issue and when I cut a few branches back they are completely white inside so it does not seem infected by anything.

Is it simply from a lack of feeding or fertilizing over the years? Will the brown area come back or should I cut the dead branches back and let the healthy plants fill it in?

    Thanks in advance.

The brown won't come back. I'd be inclined to get rid of that whole plant at the back; if you can, dig out the roots in case it is a root rot like Armillaria. The others look OK.
