I have planted a raspberry patch in what is just about the only sunny spot in my garden. In the last two or three years, some of the canes are not their usual height and the fruit are small and sometimes crumble when picked. I'm concerned the patch has raspberry bushy dwarf virus. Any tips on control? I cannot relocate as this is the only spot sunny enough.
How old are they? Are you pruning the canes? Renewing older raspberries. - Ask an Expert To confirm RBDV, it is recommended to send leaf samples in for testing, Raspberries - Province of British Columbia
Thank you so much for the advice. I can certainly send in the leaf samples. This is a patch that's about 10 years old, with some canes substituted over the years. They are pruned annually.
