Hi All, I purchased a lovely hanging plant several years back at Walmart. They were going to throw it away as it appeared to be dying. Really all it needed was to be separated into two different plants and repotted. This plant had no tag identifying it or its needs/preferences. (Sadly, I have no picture to share, as I left my plants in someone else's care while I was out of state helping an ailing family member and came back to no plants whatsoever about 2.5 years ago) I miss these particular plants very much as I was really struck by how lovely they were. I apologize for drawing on memory alone in their description. They had thicker, but not thick, light to med green, smooth and somewhat shiny, leaves of small to medium size. If I remember correctly, the leaves were also pinkish in areas and I believe the pink traveled into the stem area. What I really remember about them other than the lovely combination of smooth pink and green is they had rat/mouse like tails that stemmed out all over the plants. They were very full and hardy little plants. I have tried off and on since I lost them to try and identify them. The best I can come up with based on the mouse like tail is that it is possible it is a Peperomia of some sort. Might anyone know anything more specific based on the information I just shared? Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks for that Eric, but that is not what I had. These leaves with not quite so elephant ear like. They were roundish with a very slight heart shape to them. I neglected to say that before.
I am not sure that is it either. The leaves are a bit more fleshy than the hoyas I am familiar with. The more research I do, the more I am convinced it is some type of Peperomia. Which exact species is the question.
As a matter of fact, this is closer to what I had, very close in fact - http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=771 - though mine had leaves that may have been a bit fleshier, the stems were about the same, the colors lighter and maybe a bit more vibrant.
