First off, fabulous site you all have here!

I have to admit to being a long time lurker, only now signing up in order to request some help. We inherited a house plant from my mother –in-law without getting the name of it. She didn’t know herself, but she did state that it’s rather poisonous, so I’ve got it here at the officer rather than at home (where it can become 2 yr old food).

I‘ve gotten several comments on it; largely ‘what is that?’, but no one’s been able to ID it. I’ve taken it to a couple local nurseries, but no one there has seen anything like it before either (maybe I’m a dumb-dumb and am missing something?)

Anyway, it appears to be happy enough in regular potting soil, and has put out a few new leaves, dropping old ones (as in the pic). But if anyone can help me figuring out what it is and whether there are any special care instructions I’m missing, I’d appreciate it.
    Thanks!
