I have a 25 foot wide driveway that I would like to plant a Magnolia on each side of. I would like to train them eventually to meet in the middle. Which Magnolia would be the best for this? A Southern Magnolia perhaps? Any advice would be appreciated... I have seen one house with this effect, not too far from me. Check out the photo:
These litter throughout the summer, whoever maintains this parking area will be cleaning up frequently to maintain the clear pavement in the photo. If you use deciduous magnolias instead most rubbish will be deposited in autumn. You will also have the benefit of light coming in through the bare branches in winter.
