This orchid-like plant was gifted to us without any clue about what it is, or where it came from! Some assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for the help!!

Looks like Epiphyllum spp., probably E. oxypetalum. Not an orchid. Have you seen it bloom? Spectacular, if transient.

It's from Central America, and is an epiphyte. While it's common to have it in a pot with soil, it would grow on other trees in the wild. It will do better with an orchid mix or something fast draining.

Thank you so much! Haven't seen it bloom yet. I will switch it over to a fast draining orchid mix. It has put on quite a bit of new growth, and seems to be thriving at my 9000 foot elevation here in Colorado. I will treat it as an epiphyte maybe making a moss anchor with soil mix on bark? My issue remains providing humidity.
When I get my geodesic dome greenhouse assembled next month i should be able to simulate more of a rain forest environment. After what you said i am excited to help it bloom. Thanks again for your knowledge and input for me.
