Identification: Help with ID

    Could I be right in guessing Cotoneaster salicifolius? The base seems very large for a cotoneaster. That is (was) the stump of the tree in the image... the lenticels are very cherry-like. Leaves quite pubescent on the underside. Sorry for the poor quality of the photos...
