Hello All, This is my first post to this forum and I have a plant that I haven't been able to ID... I have looked at every picture on plantcare.com's site (all 2379 of them) and looked through wikipedia... I wish you could search by photo! In any case...here is my little green friend... Thanks for your help!
Thanks! That does seem to match my photograph... Now, if I can only coax my friend into vitality I'll be ecstatic! I had been letting it dry out between waterings...now that I know what it is I will keep it moist.
acfoti, I would suggest NOT keeping the soil moist, but instead letting the soil completely dry out like you have been before watering it again, or it can rot. I also like keeping them on root-bound, or snug side with fast draining soil so they dry quicker.... Keep it in good light. The one I have hanging right in a southern window flowers. The other one that on a pedestal which sits back further from the window has yet to flower:( Feed "lightly" in the spring and summer months.
Thanks for the suggestions. I currently have it in a west facing window with diffuser (light diffuser) in front of it... I was debating getting a moisture meter...
If the light is too low, your hoya will let you know by having spaces, or gaps between the leaves showing bare stem instead of the leaves being tight and close together all the way down the stems. Keep in mind, moisture meters aren't always accurate.
