Just bought this funny little tree off Craigslist. The seller told me it was a dwarf hinoki & that it was 10 years old. It's about 3.5' tall, not including the pot. The colour is a bit dull in the photos, but it's quite a bright chartreuse and gold.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what type of hinoki it is? My best guess is perhaps Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Fernspray Gold' but it is rather scrawny compared to all the images I can find. Or is it something else?? If it is a fernspray hinoki, will it fill in a little with care?

    thanks for the help!

Yes, one of the yellow fern-leaved cultivars of Hinoki.
