I inherited an outdoor palm that now looks like death. It was dry and browning. I trimmed all the dry fronds and found fuzzy white stuff within the palm. What is that? I discovered also a level of water in the pot, despite lack of watering after moving it inside following a rainstorm. I also found little bugs. What do I do? I added some soil to soak up the water. I hope I haven't destroyed this plant. Please help!

Ooh...doesn't sound good. Mealy bugs, I'd say. Probably some other issues too.

Please give us a photo to help with diagnosis/prognosis.

does sound like mealy bugs...although, with that excess of water still in the container (which could be a long-standing issue) the white stuff could be mold.

a few pics would definitely help us to id what is going on!!
