I have a Watermelon Peperomia and also a croton. I watered them about a week ago. I noticed a few days later that all the leaves are now wilted, all hanging downward and over the pots. I bought all my plants indoors a few weeks ago and ever since then they all seem to be doing badly. I keep them away from drafts. What can I do to save my Watermelon Peperomia and croton? My spider plant has leaves that keep turning yellow. Three plants are completely dead so I had to throw them out. I don't want to lose anymore plants so how can I save the ones I have?
Hello calle064, Bringing tender plants indoors for winter is usually stressful for them, but I would not expect everything to wilt. Did they get exposed to any low temps before coming in? Is your water treated in any way? Have you looked closely for some type of pest? Some photos may help if you have them. PS: I closed your other duplicate post. We find it less confusing to keep the conversation in one thread.
i really dont think so but maybe. I only water them when they feel dry and they were fine until they came inside. if i overwatered them, what do I do now? Just let them sit? Will they die or eventually use the water and come back?
they are probably reacting to the change in lighting. even in shaded areas, the light is much stronger outside. i'd move them closer to a window for a week or so until they perk up again and then start moving them back to lower lighting conditions. temp changes will also cause wilting - and you may have kept them outside for just a tad too long...we've had some pretty chilly nights here over the past two weeks...you're not that far away, so i would think it would be the same for you. neither plant does well at temps under 50. also, water needs will be different inside than out. so, the schedule you maintained when they were outside will need to be adjusted to compensate (as in less frequently and maybe less water). then, when the heat comes on, you'll need to increase moisture a bit to compensate for the lower humidity resulting from the heating system. they look like they were pretty darn healthy to begin with, so they should recover.
