I have been watering it every 5-7 days and putting it in sun often. For some reason i'm killing it. If I knew what kind of plant it was I could search for specific care instructions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I apologize for the poor photo quality. I had to use my camera on my phone.

    Rubber tree (Ficus elastica)???

If that's what it is, they don't like to be moved around too much... Maybe finding it a single good place to live will help it recover. The other tip is to only water it when it's dry to 2cm below the surface dirt.

    i'd say pepperomia, also.

don't know which one it is (there are a lot). if the leaves are very thick and a bit rubbery, then it's one of the succulent types...doesn't need a ton of watering. every 7-10 days should be plenty. also, if it's in peat, you'll want to repot it in a well-draining soil (i'd use a mix of regular potting soil and cactus soil). and the container it's in should have drainage holes in the bottom.

It looks like a Peperomia obtusifolia. I keep mine near a souith window and only water when it's dry.

cool it, steve. it's plenty easy to id if you are very familiar with all the different varieties of peperomia. not everyone is, even if they can place the plant in the right genus.

the double p was a matter of the keyboard sticking and i didn't catch it before posting.
