Bought a house in southwest missouri and can't figure out what this tree or shrub is? It loses all leaves in winter and comes back green in early spring, and then slowly turns purple from late spring through summer, Leaves are very feathery, almost fern-like! It's getting too tall and drooping over. Would like to prune, but not sure best time of year.
