So i have to make a bunch of dried herbarium specimens for an assignment any help on the Vernacular name with Genus and species and also the Family of which the plant belongs to would be very helpful... ive identified the rest this is the last and i cant seem to find it anywhere on google
i really cant seem to identify it it seems so similiar, and i have another sample to add, i know it might seem annoying but i really couldnt find these in the flora i have at uni, even the common name for both would suffice as i can go do most of the work from there thanks again
Last two to identify The genus and species name will help, i know they are geranium and a larkspur but of which species i dont know. Please this help would be greatly appreciated, please dont give me a link to an external website to check myself as i have already done this on numerous occasions ... sorry dont mean to appear rude.
Re: Last two to identify We don't mean to appear rude, but the point of the assignment was for you to learn how to identify plants yourself. Us spoon feeding the answers defeats the purpose of the exercise.
Re: Last two to identify i didnt make myself clear the first time, the point of the exercise was to have 5 samples ready for a herbarium, the labels i wanted to make werent necessary but id prefer to have them im not asking you to spoon feed me the answers ive already been working on the assignment for the past month trying to find all the different species of plants there were over 3000 to look up in my area it took me quite some time. I have come here as a last resort to see if anyone else could identify them better than me as im not a botanist and this is just a module on my course i need to pass. If anyone does know the genus and species it would be very helpful i already know what families they are in but putting them into their scientific names is much more difficult. Kind regards
Re: Last two to identify Let me give you a hint then. That is an annual kind of larkspur and so it belongs to the genus Consolida. It's a relatively small genus with only a few "garden worthy" species.
