Last summer, I became interested in understanding the edible plants that grow wild and are called “weeds” I found we can eat much more then we can’t. I am stumped from time to time and the following pictures are from the same plant. The stem and the leaves are smooth. Can someone help me identify this? Thank you!
I think both this one and the one in your previous post are Lactuca spp. They are probably different species, but definitely related. Have a look at the following, which have good photos. Thank you so much!! I hadn’t thought of a hybrid- that’s new to me in this journey of learning. These plants are EVERYWHERE in my yard. If they’re useful in some way, as wild lettuce is, I’d really like to harvest it. I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out :)
