    Please help

My Pachira aquatica has a light yellowish green fungus, they almost look like eggs of sort looking stuff on the top of the soil and i have no idea what it is and if it is killing my favorite plant. some of Mr. Miagi's (my money tree) leaves are going brown but i think it might be unrelated.

    Please help

How big are these egg-like structures? They may be fungus (if large), they may be slow-release fertilizer (if small). Have a photograph? How long have you had the plant?

they are small, I don't have a photo but i called my local plant store and they told me to dig out the fungus looking stuff and replace it wwith good soil.
When i dug it out it smelt like mold.
