Not in the tropics! It's very fast growing outdoors, and just plain fast indoors.

You can radically prune these, though. You might want to keep it pretty with your pruning, but you could cut it to the top of the soil and it would still grow.

It has leaves, that means its at least content - we have a variegated one that is still in recovery from being waterlogged for a few weeks after my Mum overwatered it. It has oooooh about 20 leaves to its name! I would leave it exactly where it is, they can be very fussy and drop all their leaves in shock and then sulk if you change anything.....

    alititch,

Your ficus looks healthy to me!

These trees hate to be moved from one light source to another, and will drop many leaves in protest, so find the right spot and leave it be:)
You can turn it weekly so you'll have even growth without any problems though. If it's not turned, the side not facing the light will eventually go bare, and all you'll see are sticks.

It will be happy in bright indirect light AND a little direct sun is ok too.
Let the top inch or two dry down before watering again, you don't want the soil to dry out completely, or stay wet, you want it a little moist.
I water once a week, sometimes once every two weeks, depending on the feel of the soil.
