We just brought home this beautiful big fern from the Home Depot two weeks ago. It was in perfect health for a few days in our south facing sunken patio, which receives about 3-4 hours of direct sunlight every morning. Then all of a sudden it began drying up and withering as you can make out in the attached photo.

Note: it is near our dryer vent which may indirectly blows dry warm air in the vicinity.

We are watering it once per week about 1 liter, and have added a quarter scoop of shrub fertilizer.

Any suggestions would be MUCH appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Tim

    Lay off the fertilizer.
Move plant away from dryer vent and out of direct sunlight.
    Increase water.
    Check for insect infestation(s).

Is there good drainage from the box surrounding the pot?
