Help needed with plant id: what kind of grass or other?

    this plant likes wet soil, it grows in the septic field and drainage ditches. doesn't seem to mind the clay soil at all. cluster is about 2-3 ft high, seeds developing now. If better pictures are needed, please let me know.

    A reed of some sort? Sparganium comes to mind...

    Where is Lonoke? There is a Lonoke in Texas, and one in Arkansas. A common one around here is soft rush, Juncus effuses, but there are also sedges that look similar.

    I live in Austin, which is in Lonoke county in Arkansas
    Lonoke is also the name of the Lonoke county seat in AR.
    I checked out your suggestion at the plants.USDA.gov website and the description/images matches with your id: Junus effuses L. or common rush- thanks for your help.

    I'd agree with Tipularia, definitely a rush Juncus, could well be J. effusus.
