I'm hoping someone out there can tell me what is up with two of my maples. I have attached pictures which show what symptoms I am experiencing. The first is A. palm. 'Aoba Jo' and I don't think I had anything to do with it. We had a really late hard freeze this spring and some leaves were starting to bud. Perhaps this is what caused the leaf distortion, I don't know. I'm hoping someone will. The second picture is of a poor little A. palm. 'Goshiki Kotohime' I've had since 2003 in a container. Each spring it leafs out, looks great for awhile and then starts dropping leaves. I think I am the culprit. Perhaps someone could offer some suggestions as to what sin I am committing with the poor thing. It refuses to die and as you can see sprouts new growth. P.S. I'm sorry I couldn't figure out how to do this (yet) with the instructions on the forums for adding pictures. I'll keep trying until I get it.
