    Hi,

I've noticed that this small lying plant tends to grow in very shady areas such as in the grooves of carpark lots over here in Singapore. Does anyone here know what is the scientific name of the plant or at least the family / genus it belongs to?

    Thanks!

Might be in the mint family, Lamiaceae. Looks like it is about to flower. Does it have square stems?

    Hi,

Thanks for the help! It doesn't have square stems though. But you were right about the flowering part! :) BTW, the underside of leaves is red.

I believe it's more likely to be family Acanthaceae. Reminds me of genus Pseuderanthemum, but would need to see good pic of open flower to be sure.

    Hi TonyR,

Hey, you came very close to the identity of this plant! I asked a botany professor for its identity and it is Hemigraphis primulaefolia (Acanthaceae). The plant is a non-native weed in Singapore. Thanks a lot! :)
