    Hi,

I need to ID a perennial plant that came from Japan. There are two colors, white foliage and a reddish foliage. I have nothing to go on, so a picture is posted. If you have any ideas, please reply. Thank you!

  2. May possibly be an Alternanthera or Amaranthus. Check up these names to see what you can find.
    Hope this helps.

I think it is most likely an Alternanthera. If it has thick, almost succulent leaves it might be a Peperomia, but I doubt it. If it is a Alternanthera give it very bright light or part sun, good humidity in the air and keep it evenly moist in a well drained potting soil. Pinch it to keep it bushy. It can not take freezing temperatures but some people do put them outside for the summer.
