We got about two feet of snow here a few weeks ago which bent over the 20' Cedar tree in the front yard. Now it is practically lying down (at about a 30 degree angle to the ground) rather than standing up :( The snow is gone, it's gotten up to 50 degrees with sunshine here, but the Cedar hasn't made any progress back towards the sky :( What can I do? Thanks for any advice ...
"What can I do" ?? Maybe share photos or more information. Is this a redcedar, or a real cedar like Cedrus, or other? Did the roots move? Or did only the trunk bend? How thick is the stem near the base? Any cracks? : - )
Maybe Juniperus virginiana. What do the roots look like? If it is rootbound - a common problem in this age of careless container culture - it may not be possible to recover the tree.
