Help me settle a bet

    My husband is betting this is blackberry, we have been pulling out blackberry shoots all summer. I'm betting it's some sort of berry but not blackberry.

    What is it?

    Not sure about all the fuzz but otherwise looks like a typical Rubus armeniacus seedling. These rather soon begin to bear prickles.
