I've had this plant for a few years, and i think i waited too long to move it to a new pot. it was very healthy for 2-3 years, but its not adjusting very well, and i've continued to prune the dead leaves and stalks. I dont even know what kind of plant it is. Does anyone recognize it?

Yes, I think that you may be right about the repotting. What levels of light/moisture is the Monstera getting? Temperature? Have you moved it recently?

if you just repotted it recently then give the pot a couple of good taps on the floor you might have some air pockets around the roots .. it will help to knock some dirt around it .. it also might need more light and more watering ..
it is a Split Leaf Philodendron .. they are a pretty easy plant to grow ..
