I recieved this cactus as a gift about a year ago. I am not sure what kind it is, however, the wider of the two portions has taken very sickly. The top has a decent portion of mold on it, the entire body has become very squishy, and the 'spiral' pattern indicates that the interior of the plant has turned brown, and it has become rather mishapen. Its partner appears to be in good health. Is there anything i can do to restore life into this plant or is it doomed?
