Help Me identify this plant

Can someone help my Mom and I identify this plant? I thought it was some form of Ginger or perhaps an Iris of some kind. Sure would appreciate the help. The plant is located in the Monterey Bay area of California

Looks like a huge Watsonia. Wish I could get growth like that.
