In The Garden: Help me identify this plant, please

    We are from Washington state and were in Whistler a few weeks ago and fell in love with this beautiful plant. It looked like a ground cover perhaps and had the nicest flowers. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    A species of knotweed (Polygonum or one of the other genera some would have this split into).
