Hi, new to the forum. A bird or the wind seems to have deposited the following on my terrace (I live in New York City). No one around here seems to know what it is! Can you help? Thanks!
That is so beautiful but the 1 million roots (hiding for a season) will end up sprouting for many feet I'm guessing about 7 feet or more! Years to get rid of, if you can. Mine, Crown Vetch (Coronilla varia) didn't do anything the first year so I moved it to more sun and the ground! And It was beautiful for a season then havoc broke loose. Been 5 years it is still trying to kill everyone even after I removed wheelbarrows of soil. Pulled and replanted many plants that were choking to death and dig out the shoots as I see them, they are a fast little determined to reproduce plant. It didn't do that in the pot the first season*LOL I hope yours doesn't behave like that (If you do not want it to) although It is beautiful! Kale:)
Yes, I'd agree that is a Vetch - a vile weed! Looks pretty, but hard to get rid of. Try to not let it go to seed - once the flowers start to fade, pinch them off.
