I have a plant that I recently received a clipping of, its viney, green leaves with a slight red outline (husbands grandmother passed, shes had this plant forever and all the grand-kids got a clipping.) I don't know what it is and would like to care for it properly, its important to my husband. If I could get some assistance figuring it out I would appreciate it.

Probably Kalanchoe blossfeldiana. If not that one a relation.

I concur with Ron. It looks very much like a Kalanchoe, particularly K. blossfeldiana.

There are others in this family of plants that have the succulent leaves with the scalloped edges and red tinge, the smooth stem, but in appearance of the sample and in degree of occurrence in plants handed down in families, it's almost certainly K. blossfeldiana. We can't tell you what color it will bloom, though.

It looks very similar to the one i have outside .. they are pretty hardy plants ... and mine blooms tiny pink flowers .. the leaves stay green for most of the year till about late summer/fall then it gets the red edging ..

Deer really like it also ..lol

Outdoors in Union would be a Sedum sp.

Thank you so much for your help. Now I can move it into some soil (was told to leave it in just water) and get it healthy and stable.
