I need help to identify a plant, and google showed me your forum! This plant has overwhelmed my garden. Whenever I destroy one, several others pop up in every corner of the garden. As you can see in the images, it is a bush-like plant with white-purple flowers, and berry-like fruit. I included a ruler (numbers are cm) in the images to help you. The bush height is in the 60-75cm range and if left to grow much, it develops a surprisingly hard wooden trunk and roots.
Welcome to the forums regulus. Looks like Lantana. Possibly Lantana camara. http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=la...A&biw=1536&bih=776&sei=umkZUIX3LKLb0QX-34CQCQ
wow, that was quick! thank you silver surfer! Yes, the plant seems to be the one you point out. Images in google are identical to what I am seeing here... I did a quick search and found that it is a hard-to-eradicate pest... I'll try to remove them all (roots too) and see how it goes.. If someone knows some tip to help me get rid of this, he/she is welcome!
Fire? hahaha... I thought of this too but with 35-40C and 40-50km/h winds this time in Greece, I'd rather not attempt it or I'll set the whole neighborhood on fire...
