Can anyone identify what this tree is? Some research suggests locust but I've never seen one before to know for sure.

Rough guess is it's 15-20 feet tall and the trunk is 8" or so diameter. I have no idea what it is but it's coated in these little fruits/berries.

It's growing on the high side of the property and gets full sun.

    Thanks

Definitely one of the rowans Sorbus. Not sure which; it doesn't look quite the right leaf shape (leaves not strongly serrated enough) for European Rowan S. aucuparia. Maybe one of the many eastern Asian species commonly planted in gardens. The colour of the mature berries in autumn can be important in identification, so post another pic in October; they can be red, pink, white, orange, or yellow, depending on species.

There are plenty of teeth visible in the picture and this feature varies. The only one seen here frequently is S. aucuparia. It is even naturalized.
