Help identifying this tree

    We acquired this tree in the front of our house and are having trouble identifying it... Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Current location is south facing in direct sunlight most of the day. Have attached photos of it just coming into bloom. There are no flowers only, some sort of (?) and leaves.

    Help...

    Looks like Rhus aromatica/R. trilobata

    Nope definetely not a Rhus, but a Ribes sanguineum (flowering current).

    But I am way off... here's a picture... very similar... Rhus it is.

    Thanks for the help. I would say Rhus aromatica same leaves and flowers, however I have never had any berries produced. Could be that this plant is not supposed to be in British Columbia. Thanks for the link Silver surfer.

    Could be a male plant or a female with no males nearby.
