In The Garden: Help identifying plant

    Hello,

    Can anyone identify the plant in the attached picture? It's not flowering yet and I'm a fairly new gardener. Not sure which flower in this bed ended up successfully reseeding, or if it's something I never planted. Is it cosmos? A weed?

    To me, that looks more like Ranunculus or maybe even Aquilegia than it does Cosmos - Cosmos are more feathery.

    Does the foliage have any sort of smell when you rub or crush it?

    Looks like chervil, Chaerophyllum
