    Need Help:
The first red tubular flower was growing in the Rio Grande Valley, South Texas essentially on a tree. I am a hummingbird photographer and there is a Buff-Bellied hummingbird in the picture, I would like to correctly identify the flower.

The second was flower with the hummingbird at the feeder lower right was a desert plant growing in Palm Desert, CA. I would like to identify this correctly as well. I realize these may be somewhat challenging because I haven't provided the whole plant, leaves, etc. However, any help would be appreciated.

Not sure on number one, but number two looks like a Kniphofia (Red-Hot-Poker) or an Aloe. On second glance, more probably an Aloe.

I believe the first one is Firespike, (Odontonema strictum).

Aloe vera has yellow flowers - I'd lean more towards Aloe arborescens.

The second looks very much like a detached Aloe inflorescence but cannot say which species without seeing leaves.

    Aloe vera has yellow flowers.
