    Hi, I noticed these fruit growing in a hedge in my yard and was wondering if someone could help me identify them. After doing a little research on poisonous fruits, I felt safe enough to try one, and have had quite a few since, they're really sweet, and taste a bit like a peach. The flesh is a translucent yellow/orange color and is very soft and juicy. The seed looks like a small apricot seed.
    I've gone through a few theories on what they could be but ultimately I just don't know enough abut plants to be sure.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks =)

    Small fruit size would suggest commonly seen, even naturalized (in right climates) cherry plum (Prunus cerasifera), but if pits too big, flesh or flavor suggest another stone fruit (such as a peach) then maybe one of the stone fruit hybrids such as pluot or plumcot. Can't seen enough of foliage to get hints from that.
