    Hi there.
I found this forum after a long and unsuccessful search to find out what cactus i have so that i can figure out why it's not happy..
I even tried uploading an image and doing a reverse image search, but they found nothing..

    so.. this is it.

it went through a phase of being bright green and full of life, to dark green with browning leaves..
is it too much water? too little?
    too little sun?

I appreciate any bit of help or advice..
    thanks! :)

This is not cactus, your plant is Haworthia, same family as Aloe belongs to.

did try an aloe related search, but the phrase 'aloe vera' in any variety, brings up all the wrong results.. :)

any tips about the browning leaves?

It is a Haworthia species, for sure. As for the brown leaves, hmmm. If I had such a problem I would browse the web as deep as needed.

I found some info online, some of it said that it could be 'sunburnt' from direct sun.. does that make sense? i really don't know much about plants!
the weather here must be very confusing to it, as it can be hot and sunny for a few days, and then rain for a week.. :/

It is possible it is sunburned - the correct watering regimen is one thing, but keeping it out of direct hot sunlight is another. This problem should be easy to solve.

hope so.. have managed to keep it (and 3 cacti) alive for over 4 years now, which is a personal record! :)
I'll keep checking on it, and hope it's just going through a phase..
