Hello! I was just given a house plant by my friend who was not doing a good job taking care of it. I'm trying to help it recover but I'm not sure what conditions it needs because she didn't know what kind of plant it was. The plant is only about 2' from the base of the pot to the top leaf. She said that it used to be much fuller but that the leaves have been dropping off steadily (poor plant!). She thought that it was only supposed to be watered once a week. However, from the looks of it, I'm hesitant to trust what she says. I've been searching for a picture of a similar plant all night but I can't find one. Does anyone know what kind of plant this is? Any ideas of how to improve its health would also be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks!

Suggest moving plant to a larger pot.

I think you're right! It looks very similar to the pictures of the Polyscias scutellaria 'Balfouriana'. Thank you for your speedy, expert help!
