My husband and I found this growing along an old abandoned road. We were actually looking for possum grapes but no such luck. I have no idea what this is but we did break one of the berries open and it looks just like a grape on the inside. I brushed it off my finger and took a very tiny taste and the berry is very sweet. Any ideas?? Thank you advance for any help.

Thank you so much for your reply. Attaching photos will not be a breeze. Oh, and the plant we found is a pepper vine. Really beautiful! I found the information on this site. Next time I will do much research before asking a question. Seems someone else found the same plant.

    Thank you again!
