Help identify this tree

    This tree is about 25 feet tall and trunk is about 8" in diameter. Picture was taken in Palm Desert, California, in mid-November. Last November I took some seeds (yellow and about 1/4" long, 3/16" diameter, pointed on one end) from the seed pods and planted them. Have one that is doing well although after a years growth potted indoors it is only about 12" tall and has about a dozen leaves but showing no tendancy to develope branches.

    Thanks for the help! It sure looks like brachychiton popylneus is the correct identification. The pictures of the open seed pod with seeds still in the pod look exactly like the ones I took the seeds from. Thanks again to you both.
