help identify this plant

    please help me to identify this plant/weed. It has taken over my garden, and has deep, complex roots - I'd love to get rid of it, but don't know what it is...

    Broad-leaved Dock Rumex obtusifolius. A nasty weed to deal with!

    You've got more than just Dock to worry about, see pic #3.
    Ailanthus is taking over in the background too.

    You can always try covering the entire area with a heavy dark coloured tarp and that way the plants will die. Then you will just have to dig out all of the roots.

    thank you - that is such a great idea. I just want to start over, and since this a rental property, I didn't want to spend a lot on it. I really appreciate the suggestion!
