I am caring for an indoor plant at work that is about 5 feet tall. It has 3 separate stalks with leaves at the top. It looks like a palm but I'm not sure what kind. I am posting photos of the leaves and the stalks. You can see that one of the stalks is black and is dead except that when I recently transplanted the whole thing, I saw new leaves connected to the root of the dead stalk. I am wondering if I should prune the dead stalk down or just leave it. Any advice or help identifying the plant would be most appreciated.
Looks like Dracaena fragrans 'Janet Craig'. It wouldn't hurt to cut back the black section - it's already dead.
