Identification: Help identify this mushroom 2

Please help me with the identification of this mushroom that I found next to a birch this morning.

My immediate thought is Paxillus involutus, which grows with birch. A Paxillus, at least.

Is it really firm and sturdy?

Thanks for the post. It is rather firm, but I wouldn't say it is hard to brake.
