I found these tasty looking morsels growing next to a cedar hedge in my front yard.
What are they and can I eat them?
The last picture is of a younger one. It is 7 cm across and about 5 tall. Very fibrous stem that is very dark towards the bottom.
There is no ring around the stem. Larger ones are 10 to about 15 cm across and about 10 cm tall
It was raining when I took these pics so they are wet but even after wiping the one I picked, it continues to feel slimy.
Half of the gills run all the way from the stem to the edge and the others start halfway while others start even closer to the edge.
    They do not fork.
The one I picked smells just like the mushrooms in the store maybe even a little more sweet smelling.
    Thanks so much!

Spore print color would help a lot.
