Hi, we just bought this plant last 2 weeks ago. We forgot to get the name of the plant from the seller, all I know is that it's from the Netherlands. If you notice the leaf at the top is pointing downwards unlike before, I'm afraid the plant is dying. I would appreciate it if anyone could identify this plant so I can search the net on how to maintain it.
Looks quite healthy to me, I believe you're just seeing normal Schefflera arboricola leaf curvature .
Looks like Schefflera arboricola, Umbrella Tree. You may have two different plants in the pot - one the species and the other a variegated cultivar, likely 'Variegata'.
Your schefflera is fine, variegated leaves or not. The new growth will often look like that. I had to do a double take on your next plant. Someone had just posted about Darceana Janet Craig, which is actually Dracaena deremensis "Janet Craig", or that's how I think it's supposed to be written. What you have is an older "lucky bamboo", a feng shui abuse of a perfectly adaptable plant. Cuttings of Dracaena spp, often D. deremensis, are put in water, sometimes made to grow in spirals or in braids, and propped in water and stone filled vases or pots. Anyhow, you could chop this into sections, maybe give each section four or five leaf nodes, and then resprout the canes in the lucky bamboo style, or put them in potting soil for a more vibrant look.
