My husband and I are currently living a board our sailboat in Guatemala. We have been here for three years now and have traveled the river system often. We came across a very unusual plant that we have not seen in the last three years and have not been able to identify. The flower itself is at least as large as your hands cupped. The plant has a very strong, bad odor.

Thank you for your quick reply. After looking it up, it is a Aristolochia Grandflora SW.
    Thanks again
