    #3 suggests Gentianaceae to me -- perhaps send the photo to the Gentian Research Network?

    (why I think Gentianaceae: flower-bearing stems emerging from axils of opposite leaves, bottle-like structure of flowers when in bud, "inky" colouration of stems subtending the flowers)
