Hello everyone, I don't have much experience with plants and need some help.

I bought a house with this tree in the backyard. I am in Houston, TX, and most trees have new leaves now. But this one doesn't. I was wondering if it's sick? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Probably a Pecan, they're slow to leaf out in Spring.

Looks very battered with lots of broken branches in the past (presumably from hurricanes?) but the regrowth looks healthy enough.
