Thank you David! A quick google image search and that certainly looks right. One site said the crushed leaves smell of pineapple and yes they sure do. Centratherum punctatum pictures certainly seem to be what I have. I'll go looking for a proper description for that plant to confirm this before I go bragging about my new find.
